Chris Patillo and Adam Byrd are the owners of Wichita Falls Texas Hemp Company LLC and see hemp farming trending towards big agriculture. Adam has had a condensed cannabis education over the last 2 years, and Chris has been in the industry for over 5 years now. The two of them have both been advocating for hemp for years. After the passing of the 2018 farm bill, they knew it was time to spring into action and bring the cannabis industry as a new industry to their home town. Chelsea Smith is the creator of Taboo Talks Series emanating from Southern California. Taboo Talk Series is a speaker series and community dedicated to breaking stigmas around plant medicine in a modern world. Its content spans on everything from sobriety and racism to social equity and equality. Chelsea believes that these are the conversations we must hear to take away the stigma and fear around cannabis. She built her platform as a platform to showcase people who have something meaningful and educational to say about cannabis. Randal MacCaffrie is the Co-Founder and Chief Information Officer of Cannabis Community Care and Research Network, a public benefit corporation and the very first state-wide social equity network in the cannabis industry otherwise known as C3RN. The company strives to connect and empower the cannabis industry, academia, and clinical communities to create a virtual network of like-minded innovators. In doing so they are able to advance cannabis research and use of medical cannabis as a valuable option for those with qualifying conditions, such as veterans and others who suffer from PTSD. C3RN is also breaking the stigma by starting the cannabis control commission social equity training program at Holyoke Community College.
